Frightful Fall Read-a-Thon

Over at Castle Macabre they’re hosting a “Frightful Fall Read-a-Thon” from October 3rd to 9th, wherein you just pledge your allegiance to Ye Gods of the Word and read some books during that specific week. Read one book or read ten, that’s up to you… but sign up on the site or through the Castle Macabre’s FB event page to put yourself in the running for prizes and to keep up with the party. I’ll be contributing two copies of A Career Guide To Your Job In Hell to the prize kitty (duly signed by one author) and there are plenty more prizes and surprises, thrills and chills in store! YOU WANT TO GO TO THERE!

Second rule of Book Club?

Don’t turn your back on Book Club, that shit’ll creep right up on you…

Add to the list:

(Possibly) the new Lawrence Block thriller under the pen name Jill Emerson. “Getting Off is the story of a young woman who sets off on a quest to find every man she’s ever slept with – and to murder them all.”

And the new Sherlock Holmes adventure by Guy Adams, which has Holmes and Watson seeking out none other than Aleister Crowley in their attempts to thwart a mysterious killer of the world’s top Occultists. Biscuits and gravy, baby!

As previously mentioned, the only one actually in my possession is Kevin J. Anderson’s Captain Nemo, so the rest of these are potential reads at best. Still… a boy can dream.
